About the Author
Dr. Darla-Jean Weatherford has more than 20 years' experience in teaching technical writing and presentations to engineers at Texas A&M University. During her 14 years as coach of the petroleum engineering department's student paper contest team, her students took more than half the awards at each year's regional competition. She also received a university-level award for design and delivery of her senior-level technical writing course. In addition to teaching, Dr. Weatherford has more than two decades of experience in editing company reports, papers for presentation at technical meetings, and other professional engineering documents.
Dr. Weatherford holds a BS in Education, Journalism, English from the Texas State University, an MS in Educational Cirriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University and a PhD in Technical Communicatoin and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University.
