About the Author
J.B. (Ben) Bloys is the Team Leader for Chevron s Fluids & Waste Management Technology Group. He also manages several national laboratory and university technology programs. Bloys worked for 17 years at the ARCO Technology Center before joining Chevron in 2000. He holds a BS degree in chemistry from Angelo State University. Bloys has 28 technical publications and 17 patents and is a member of SPE, AADE, ACS, and API.
H.R. (Hal) Warner Jr. has been an independent reservoir engineering consultant since 2000. He previously worked nearly 30 years for ARCO in a variety of technical assignments, with his final assignment as a Senior Technical Advisor. Warner holds a PhD degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a BS degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University. He is a Distinguished Member of SPE and previously received the 1979 AIME Rossiter W. Raymond Award. He is the author of several technical papers in various SPE publications, and others in The Petrophysicist and for the Gas Processors Association. Warner has been actively involved with SPE s technical publications, serving as Executive Editor of SPE Reservoir Engineering from 1992-1994, and earlier as a Review Chairman (1989-1992) and Technical Editor (1986-1989). He was a Volume Editor for the second revision of SPE s Petroleum Engineering Handbook; he also was the author or coauthor of three chapters in its Reservoir Engineering and Petrophysics volume. Currently, he serves on SPE s JPT Special Series Committee.
